Pit 2 - Rambi Raceway & Coastal Speedway [63 Images]
Rambi Raceway was built on the outskirts of Myrtle Beach SC in 1958. The 1/2 clay track was constructed 5 miles from the beach on hi-way 501 to replace Coastal Speedway, which closed after the 1957 season. The Racing Association Of Myrtle Beach Inc.(Rambi) had efforts and financial support of more than 230 local business and civil leaders. The original plan was to later expand to a 1 mile high speed asphalt track. The 1-mile track never happened, but today the 1/2 paved Myrtle Beach Speedway sites on the original site of Rambi Raceway. ................................................................Please do not reproduce, copy, or post any photos from Carolina Race Place on any other site without my permission...........................
